80年代を代表するアイドル「松田聖子」。ファッションの流行もを牽引した彼女のヒットソング4曲のメドレーです。
『赤いスイートピー』
呉田軽穂(松任谷由実)が作曲を手掛け、松本隆が作詞を手掛けた「松」コンビによって作られ松田聖子が歌った作品です。リリース当時は赤いスイートピー(花)はマイナーなカラーでこの曲のヒットがきっかけに品種改良が進み鮮やかな赤いスイートピーが売られるようになりました。

Seiko Matsuda was one of the most popular idols of the 1980s. This is a medley of four of her hit songs.

"Red Sweet Pea"
This song was written by the “Matsu” duo, with music composed by Karuho Kureta (Yumi Matsutoya) and lyrics by Takashi Matsumoto, and sung by Matsuda Seiko. At the time of its release, red sweet pea (flower) was a minor color, but this song became a hit and led to the breeding and sale of bright red sweet peas.
"SWEET MEMORIES"

テレビアニメ『おジャ魔女どれみ』のオープニングテーマであるこの曲は、MAHO堂の一枚目のシングルとして1999年に発売されました。
この楽曲が主題歌として放送されたのは1999年の一年間のみでしたが、放送開始からあっという間に女の子を中心に大人気になり、現在でも記憶に残っている方は多いのではないでしょうか。
平成アニソン大賞作曲賞や第5回アニメーション神戸商主題歌賞を受賞しており、日本中の誰もが知っているアニソンなのではないでしょうか。

本曲はイギリスの詩人であるスウィンバーンの詩、「カリドンのアタランタ」から着想を得て作曲されました。「若さあふれる快活さ」と「優しい恋の甘さ」を音楽として表現しようと試みられています。
カナダのオンタリオ州ウィンザーにあるジョン・L・フォースター・セカンダリースクール・コンサートバンドと、その指揮者ジェラルド・A・N・ブラウンから委嘱され、献呈されました。

吹奏楽の神様とも呼ばれるアルフレッドリード氏による吹奏楽のための序曲をサックスカルテットアレンジしました。
リード氏の作品はなんといっても多声部で絡み合う音楽が特徴的ですが、その良さを可能な限り残しつつ、サックスでサウンドしやすいようにアレンジしています。

This piece is one such work that is still performed more than 40 years after its composition in 1980.
This piece was inspired by the poem “Atlanta in Calydon” by the English poet Swinburne. The music attempts to express “exuberant youthful gaiety” and “the sweetness of tender love".It was commissioned and dedicated by the John L. Forster Secondary School Symphonic Band of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and its director, Gerald A.N. Brown.

尾田栄一郎原作の漫画を元に、1999年にアニメ化された際、初代オープニングテーマとして作曲されたのがこの『ウィーアー！』です。

今回のアレンジでは原曲のイメージを崩さず、(毎回そんなことを言っていますが、、、)クラリネットでのロック(ポップ)感が出るようにアレンジしました。
特にクラリネットでは中音域が曇りがちですので、そのコンプレックスを極力解消できるような音使いを心がけています。原曲のギターソロをそのまま楽譜に書き起こし、音源でも演奏していただいていますが、コードに基づいて自由に吹いていただいて構いませんので、ぜひかっこよくキメてください!!

In this arrangement, I didn't destroy the image of the original song (I say that every time, but...), but arranged it to have a rock (pop) feel with clarinet.
Especially with clarinets, the middle register tends to be cloudy, so I try to use a sound that eliminates that complex as much as possible.We have transcribed the guitar solo of the original song as it is in the score and played it on the soundtrack, but you are free to play it based on the chords. Please play it in a cool way!

"Souvenir de Florence," a string sextet composed by Tchaikovsky, was inspired by his experiences in the Italian city of Florence.
Throughout the piece, the rich emotional depth characteristic of Russian music intertwines with the brightness and charm of Italian style. Tchaikovsky’s signature melodies filled with longing and his lush harmonies leave a strong impression. The first movement, in particular, features a passionate main theme and driving development. The inner movements introduce dance-like rhythms and lyrical melodies, evoking vivid images of a foreign landscape through sound.
Although written for a chamber ensemble, the work conveys an orchestral richness, making it one of Tchaikovsky’s most notable compositions and a beloved piece in many concert programs.

誰もが耳にしたことのある名曲中の名曲。合唱曲として有名ですが、あの昭和を代表する大スター「坂本九」の楽曲だというのはあまり知られていないかもしれません。
今まで様々な編成でアレンジしてきた「心の瞳」ですが、今回は原曲の雰囲気を抑えつつも少しおしゃれなテイストでアレンジし直しています。

吹奏楽の巨匠と呼ばれたアルフレッド・リード。その中でも本曲「アルメニアンダンス」は今もなお人気を誇る楽曲の一つとして数えられています。5曲のアルメニアの民謡をメドレー形式で編曲されていますが、その独創性は編曲を超えた作曲と言えるでしょう。

■アレンジ内容(解説：西部圭亮)

吹奏楽の名曲をチューバだけでもカッコよく演奏したいという強い想いをこめて編曲しました。原曲のイメージや構成感を崩さないように、メロディを担当するパートは場面ごとに入れ替わるように工夫しています。吹奏楽では指揮者がいるので、引っ張っていってくれるのですが、4重奏では推進力が失われて重くなりがちです。特に残響の長いホールなどで演奏する際には、ホールから反響して聴こえてきた音に合わせるとどんどん遅れていってしまいます。できる限りたくさんリハーサルをして、アンサンブルを磨いていくと良いでしょう。楽器で難しい場合は、4人で歌ってみると早く上達します。

This composition is arranged in a medley format, incorporating five Armenian folk songs, yet its originality transcends mere arrangement, making it a true composition in its own right.

■Arrangement Details(explanation：Keisuke Nishibu)

I arranged this piece with a strong desire to make a brass band masterpiece sound cool even with only tubas. To preserve the original image and structure, I carefully designed the melody to be shared among different parts throughout the piece. In a full wind ensemble, the conductor provides direction and momentum, but in a quartet, the performance can sometimes feel heavy due to the lack of that driving force. This is especially true in halls with long reverberation, where synchronizing with the echoed sound can cause the tempo to drag. To counter this, frequent rehearsals are essential for refining ensemble cohesion. If certain passages are difficult to play on the instrument, practicing by singing them together can significantly speed up improvement.

ミステリアスで緊張感のあるイントロが印象的なこの楽曲。名探偵コナンの世界観を象徴するテーマとして、アニメの放送開始以来、長年にわたり親しまれています。ジャズとロックが融合したアレンジは、事件の謎解きやアクションシーンをさらに引き立て、聞くだけで物語の展開を期待させる力を持っています。これまでにさまざまなバージョンが制作されながらも、その特徴的なメロディは変わることなく、多くのファンに愛され続けています。

このアレンジは横浜が誇る大規模サクソフォンイベント、「YSA」の第8回演奏会の中高生ステージのためにアレンジしたものになります。したがって八重奏に限らず、各パートダブルブッキングや大規模なサクソフォンオーケストラでも演奏可能です。またドラムの楽譜もそのまま残してありますのでドラム奏者との共演も面白いでしょう。名探偵コナンのテーマは映画ごとにオープニングや演奏楽器などが変更され、ファンの間ではお気に入りのver.はどれなどと話題になるほどです。今回はTV版でも使用されているメインテーマをベースに「瞳の中の暗殺者」のオープニングを採用しています。

"An Arrangement Created for the Middle and High School Stage at Yokohama’s Renowned Saxophone Event, YSA"
This arrangement was crafted for the middle and high school stage at the 8th performance of YSA, Yokohama's prominent saxophone event. It’s adaptable beyond an octet, with each part able to be doubled, making it suitable for a large saxophone orchestra. The drum part is also included, making a collaboration with a drummer a fun addition.
The Detective Conan theme is known for changing its opening and instrumentation with each movie, sparking discussions among fans about their favorite versions. For this arrangement, we’ve based it on the main TV theme, incorporating the opening from The Fourteenth Target.

F.F.F.F. - Four Forces for Four tubas

■楽曲解説（解説：伊藤翼）

タイトルの『F.F.F.F.（Four Forces for Four tubas）』。自然界を支配するFour Forces（重力・電磁気力・強い力・弱い力）から着想を得てつけられました。
複雑に絡み合う自然界の力の他に、4人の奏者、4つのセクション、F-minorの調性、さらには“フォルテ４つなど、この楽曲に含まれる様々な要素の意味を込めています。
書き進める中でこの４つの力というキーワードが自然に浮かび上がり、結果的にタイトルがすべてを回収する形となりました。冒頭のモチーフが各セクションで様々な旋律と絡みながら姿を変え、音楽を有機的に繋いでいきます。
低音楽器ならではの重厚なグルーヴ、繊細なハーモニーの重なり、そして終盤には1st奏者が即興的なソロを展開し、再現部をともなったフィナーレへ突入します。

The title “F.F.F.F. (Four Forces for Four Tubas)” was inspired by the four fundamental forces that govern nature ? gravity, electromagnetism, the strong force, and the weak force.

The number “four” carries multiple meanings throughout the work: four players, four sections, the key of F minor, and even four fortes (ffff). During the composition process, the concept of “four forces” naturally emerged, ultimately unifying the entire piece under its title.

The opening motif transforms as it intertwines with various melodies in each section, creating an organic flow throughout the music. The piece features the deep groove unique to low brass, rich and delicate harmonic layers, and culminates with an improvised solo by the first player leading into a powerful recapitulation and grand finale.
